University of North Alabama
The University of North Alabama is an accredited comprehensive regional state university offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs through the colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Education and Human Sciences, and the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professionals. Occupying a 130-acre campus in a residential section of Florence, Alabama, UNA Athletics, a renowned collegiate athletics program with seven (7) Division II National Championships, is now a proud member of the NCAA Division I’s ASUN Big South Conference.
Alabama is a state in the Southeastern region of the United States and North Alabama is a region of the U.S. state of Alabama. Several geographic definitions for the area exist, with all descriptions including the nine counties of Alabama's Tennessee Valley region. North Alabama is a tourist attraction with the Alabama Mountain Lakes. It is also known as Rocket City as it is the site of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, and the United States Army Aviation and Missile Command. UNA is located within a four-city area that includes Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, and Tuscumbia.
